All kittens placed through Happy Kittens Heaven are raised in real homes—not industrial breeding farms.

Our breeders provide:

  • Temperature-controlled, kitten-safe spaces

  • Comfortable nesting areas for queens

  • Regular human interaction from birth

  • Free movement, exploration, and social play

This ensures every kitten grows up confident, friendly, and emotionally balanced.

🧬 2. Genetic Health & Responsible Pairing

Breeders must use responsible mating practices that protect the long-term genetic health of their breed.

This includes:

✔ Mandatory genetic screening (where breed-relevant)

Testing may include (depending on the breed):

  • HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) – Maine Coon

  • PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) – British Shorthair

  • PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)

  • Blood type compatibility

  • Other hereditary conditions common to specific breeds

✔ NO inbreeding, line-breeding, or unsafe pairings

Breeding decisions must always prioritize:

  • Strengthening lineage

  • Preventing genetic defects

  • Avoiding hereditary health issues

We do not work with breeders who overbreed their queens or produce litters in rapid succession.

Our standards include:

  • Maximum number of litters per queen per year

  • Queens are retired responsibly at an appropriate age

  • No breeding before physical maturity

Only kittens cleared by a licensed veterinarian can be listed for adoption.

We require honest, accurate representation of every kitten. Breeders must provide:

  • Real, recent photos and videos

  • Clear descriptions of personality

  • Correct age, breed information, and gender

  • Health history and vet documentation

  • Information about any special needs or care requirements

No edited, staged, or misleading photos. No fake listings. Ever.

🛂 8. Verification & Continuous Monitoring

Every breeder goes through a strict vetting process before placement on our network. This includes:

  • Identity verification

  • Home environment review

  • Breeding practice evaluation

  • Review of veterinary partnerships

  • Ongoing monitoring

  • Random compliance checks

If a breeder fails to meet our standards at any point, they are immediately removed.
